Our Process.

Our process is designed to be efficient and accessible, so you can check this off your list and get back to enjoying life.

The estate planning process (and any legal matter, really) can be intimidating to many, but at Estana we strive to make it accessible – empowering our clients to be a substantial part of the process along the way.

The following is a quick summary of the step-by-step process for the completion of a typical estate plan at Estana Law.

Questionnaire

As a first step in our process, the client completes an Estate Planning Questionnaire or Trust/Probate Questionnaire to provide basic information and to start the thought process on the decisions to be made (for example: who will take care of my children if I am unable? Who should manage my assets if I cannot?)

Plan Design Meeting

The next step is a discussion (either via phone/video conference or in-person, at the client’s convenience) to hone in on the client’s primary goals and priorities, and how best to plan for their specific situation.

Drafting

The Estana team then drafts the various legal documents necessary to effectuate the plan discussed during the estate plan design meeting and transmits the drafts to the client via our secure client portal for review.

Client Review

Next, the client reviews the draft documents and contacts the team at Estana with any questions and suggested changes they may have. Some clients also like to have an additional meeting with the team to review the documents together in detail.

Signing Meeting

When the documents are finalized, we schedule an in-person meeting to review, sign, witness and notarize the necessary documents.

There is no Step 6!

It’s that easy! 😛

Virtual Estate Planning

A key belief at Estana Law Group is that we must utilize technology to make our practice more convenient and cost-effective for our clients. We utilize a secure client portal for document sharing and secure communications. We also offer secure phone and video conferencing so that clients can access our team at their convenience, on their schedule and in the comfort of their own home. For those who prefer the “virtual” experience, the entire estate planning process up until the signing meeting (which is most often handled in our office) can take place via our portal, email communication and phone/video conferencing.  Of course, some matters are more complex and will benefit from in-person meetings, but in this ever changing world the team at Estana is prepared to be flexible to meet our clients’ needs in the best way possible. Probate and trust administration matters can also be handled entirely virtually, at the client’s convenience.
